I love breaks!

Dad Maier called up today and volunteered to watch little Micah for awhile. I was able to get out for awhile, had some coffee, was able to do some things around the house. I love the little boy to death, but breaks are so nice, too! Poor little guy-he has some tummy trouble. You can hear it gurgling! He also is really gassy, has lots of spit up, and is cranky and fussy. Suggestions anyone?

Looking forward to this weekend! Memorial day weekend-picnics, getting together with a few friends I haven't seen in awhile, and an extra day off for Matt, so we hope to see him a little! :) Still waiting for a little nephew. Today would be an awesome birthday for him since it is his parent's 4th anniversary! Come on Jenn, just go and run outside for a bit-maybe it will induce labor??

Enjoy some more pics of our cute little man!

Picture Crazy

Looking into Daddy's eyes

the Jabba the Hut look

Crazy eyes

I forgot to mention in the previous post that this was also Micah's first time in the nursery at church on Sunday and then again on Wednesday. It is so nice not to have to worry about him making all of his crazy noises during the service and distracting or disturbing people.

Well, definately realizing I want to take lots of pictures of this little man of ours during every phase of his growing up. We were looking at the photo album of his birth and first few day pictures and just realizing how big he is getting already! So I am posting some of these pictures to chronicle this week in his life :)

Eagerly awaiting a Calhoun cousin for Micah! Josh and Jenn are due Monday-praying for a healthy delivery! Can't wait to meet him!

Busy Weekend

What a busy little weekend we had! Friday night Matt and I had date night, so Micah got to spend some time with Grandma Helga and Grandpa John. Well, after we ran into Grandpa John at El Rodeo having dinner and a margharita! After dinner Matt and I saw the movie Date Night for our date night. It was good to be out of the house doing something together without a baby!
Saturday we all went to do Lory's Place 5K. Matt ran, and Micah, my mom, and I walked. Micah's first 5K! Saturday night we went to Middlebury, Indiana for my grandpa's 72nd birthday. 72 and he is already a great-grandpa!
Last night was Micah's first night alone in his crib in his nursery. He did really well! Didn't wake up for the first time until 4am! But now this morning he is really super cranky. What gives?

Brohman and Mother's Day

This last weekend was Micah's first visit to the cabin in Brohman! We are carrying on the tradition, as Matt went to Brohman when he was one month old. Micah did pretty good on the car ride, and most of the time he behaved. The first night we were in the back bedroom, which was freezing. Micah whimpered a lot-no matter how many blankets he had. The next two nights we slept out in the living room next to the wood burning stove to heat the little guy up, and he did a lot better. Even though it rained most of the time we were there and it was really cold, it was a good relaxing time.
My first mother's day was yesterday! Still a little surreal that I'm a mom-That perfect, living, breathing, blessing came from me! Weird. Micah was sweet enough to give me one of the best Mother's Day gifts-last night he slept through his first feeding! Yep, that means he slept a little more than 6 hours without waking! I hope this continues...

Nap time with Daddy!

Going to the famous Brohman diner. High class-look at their spelling!

Aunt Lissa admiring a sleeping Micah!

Just hanging around the cabin!

Resting in the pack n play.

Finally updating!

So we would have updated sooner if:
1) We weren't so incredibaly busy! (You can guess why) and
2) Someone had taught me how to access this blog and post before yesterday :)

So Micah is one month old now! We can't even believe it. Time is flying. The first few weeks were very challenging. I'm the type of person who would, before Micah, sleep 8 or 9 hours a night without interruptions, and still want to take a nap later in the day. Well, I'm sadly starting to get used to only sleeping 2-3 hours at a time, then, like a zombie, getting up to change and feed the little monster. I'm learning how to function sleep deprived. And who says newborns sleep around 18 hours a day? Not this kid! I'm lucky if I can get him to take an hour nap! But nevertheless, he is so cute, such a blessing, and we couldn't be happier!
I hope the next post comes before he is two months old!
