Merry Christmas Eve!

We love this time of year! Adelie has not yet joined us, and we are still waiting....me, not so patiently! But we put her stocking up on the mantle with the family's.  We opened our stocking this morning since we will be with family tonight and tomorrow.
He was pretty excited to be getting "kessants" (presents).  We told him Santa is coming tonight...not sure how much he understands.  We watched a Veggie Tales Christmas movie with him last night. He knows Christmas is when baby Jesus was born.  So proud of this little man!

Wanted to show an update of our basement so far, since I probably won't be posting much about it and/or no one will care so much when A is born!
So here is the laundry room (still has stuff piled up in it!)
 Hallway
 Shower
Bathroom-Matt doing wall tile last night
 Bedroom/closet
 Finished wall tile in bathroom-beautiful!

38 weeks-Compared

38 weeks today! We pulled out pregnancy pics of me with Micah. I thought orignally I looked much bigger with Adelie now than I did with Micah, but now that I put on the same shirt and am seeing the pics together, I don't look much different.  So left pic is with Adelie, 38 weeks, right is Micah, 38 weeks.
We are also discussing if I'm carrying differently...higher or lower this time? Bigger or smaller?
We would love to hear what you have to say!

And oh yeah, I got a couple of stretch marks this time...boo!

Micah is helping wrap presents!  Really he just wanted to cut the paper (with playdoh scissors by the way!) and play with tape. Oh yeah, and he is naked, fresh out of the tub, not wanting to get dressed. Oh the adventures in our house!

Full Term!

37 weeks as of Friday-
we made it to full term!  She can come anytime now!
Official due date less than three weeks away.  I'm feeling big, but thankfully am not that uncomfortable. Thank goodness for chiropractic visits :)

First snow of the season!

This morning Micah begged to go play out in the snow.  I have a feeling he will want to be outside a lot this winter!  He also associates the snow with thinking that Santa must be coming. Which is cute, but also hard considering time eludes him and Christmas isn't for 2 more weeks!  I told him "not yet Micah". His response? "Ok, next time!"

Gifts for Adelie and other kid pics

My last day at LMC for the semester was today. I really enjoy the work, but its also nice when its done...because it means our due date is even closer! Now it is just Lakeland work until she is born.  The full time nursing faculty gave me a gift today for Adelie!  So cute! And the U of M book is specifically from Kathleen who graduated at U of M nursing a few years before me! Thanks ladies!
My mom came by this afternoon with Rudy who is spending the night, but also she finished Adelie's quilt!  Piggies!  I absolutely love it.  You can't see it, but in the brown lines her name is quilted in.  So special that each of my babies have a handmade quilt from Grammy that they can always have!  Thanks mom, they are truly special and will be cherished! (Funny, also under the quilt is our wedding quilt she made...also a very special gift we love and will always have!!) You are awesome Mom/Grammy!
Kramer was getting on painting the basement. Why are our cats so weird??
 Naked Christmas tree pic.  Goober!

Nature Walk

Last Wednesday, Matt took us to a lake he found in Grand Mere that he never knew was there.  We walked around the lake, which is almost in the valley, hills surrounding on every side!
Decided to take my "34 week" picture with the beautiful background (really I was 33 weeks and 5 days)

Over Thanksgiving weekend, Matt sanded the basement.  No, he isn't wearing long sleeves!  Drywall is primed, hoping to paint sometime soon! Will post an update later.
My Black Friday present-a Kindle Fire HD!  I love it.  We put a lot of apps for Micah on it. So far his favorites are Super Why, a farm game, and an alphabet game.  But his absolute favorite??  Playing Angry Birds with Daddy!!!  He is quite good actually.
One of my students brought this for me today! Her mom owns Nature's Market in Holland and is knowledgeable about herbs in pregnancy.  Organic pregnancy tea and red raspberry leaf tea to help tone the uterus and make for an easier labor and delivery!  Ok, the coconut water has nothing to do with pregnancy, but we were talking about it at clinical on Tuesday and I really wanted to try it!
Thanks Liz!

The last month...

Happy Fall!  Sorry there has been such a delay in posts. To make a long story short, our computer has been on the fritz with the internet, and the camera wouldn't upload pictures on Matt's laptop...I finally got creative with copying and pasting.  So there is a lot to catch up on!
Middle of October, we took Micah to his first movie in the theater.  We saw Despicable Me.  He was surprisingly good, even if he sat on my lap most of the movie!  He was scared at times just because it was so big and so loud. We went all out and he even had his own little bag of popcorn!
Every year in the fall we take a walk at Grand Mere State Park. This was our third year.  We went on a Sunday afternoon mid-October, and it was a beautiful day!

One of Micah's favorite things to do at daycare is play with playdough.  We don't have any in the house, so I thought I would be all homemaker and make some.  It is a little stickier than desired, even with extra flour, but he was enjoying playing in it with cookie cutters.  Epic fail-I went to take a shower and came back and he was standing on the playdough, on my rug....
It was a great month of watching the Tigers. Matt even went to a playoff game.  This pumpkin was donated to us by a few in our awesome youth group! Very talented, and they didn't want to take it home.  Unfortunately it didn't bring the Tigers any luck in the world series...
Halloween!  We were able to dress up three times...the first two times as Elmo, Bert and Ernie.
We borrowed ketchup and mustard costumes from our friends, so I scored a great deal on a hot dog costume for Micah online!  On Halloween, we went to church were we had our annual fall family fun fair and this year introduced Trunk or Treat.
 My Boys!
Micah has been really into his animals, or "babies".  He made me take a picture of him with each baby-he would wrap them in the blanket, rock them, and sing "rock-a-baby, treetop". I think he will be a good big brother!
As of last Friday (Nov 2), we are 31 weeks pregnant!
We watched Braeden last Saturday night, which was so fun! Micah was very interested.  Micah used his bouncy seat for his babies again....hehe.  Matt enjoyed rocking Braeden to sleep.
After two months, Micah and our closets are done!!!!!  Micah's closet is first...old closet on the left, new and improved on the right! Next is our bedroom closet, same with old and new! Very happy with the final results!!

Whew! I will try not to wait so long between posts this time.  Happy November! Turkey Day is just around the corner!!
