Weekends

Ok! So two weekends ago, we went with the youth group and some others from church to Detroit for Home Plate and a Tigers game.  Home Plate happens every year before a Tigers game, where a few players from each time take some time to share about their testimonies, how it has changed their life, and how it affects their playing and families.  It was cool, definitely worth leaving St Joe at 5 in the morning to see!

At the Tigers game!!
After the game, we drove to Saline and met our niece for the first time! Lydia! She was so cute and little, I forgot how little they start off as!  It was a blessing to be able to stop in and see the Calhoun's.
This past weekend, Matt and Miles left their families at home to go to the cabin for some fishing time.  This is one of the trout Matt caught fly fishing.  Micah and I made it on our own, with minimal melt downs, setting aside the catastrophe of Woody's hat coming off!

Poor Baby!

I hesitate to even post this, because its so gruesome.  Please be praying for Micah this week, he is miserable!  Micah has been diagnosed with Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease. (thank you daycare for providing the worst viruses possible!!) Its a virus, very contagious, that affects mostly kids 5 and under.  It starts as a fever, then a rash forms and blisters appear.  Micah's is extremely bad because he has a history of eczema, so his skin is more sensitive.  His has been itchy as well, which it isn't in all cases.  There is no treatment, just treat symptoms and let it run its course.  Dr Driscoll did put him on an antiviral med, acyclovir, just in case its another virus, just to cover all bases.  Obviously he cant go to daycare either, so I'm home with him today.  We have been putting hydrocortisone cream on every few hours and benadryl before nap and bedtime. The blisters are starting to scab over, and they say its not contagious anymore, but I don't want to risk it and expose other kids to it.  I'm so vain too, I'm worrying if it will produce scars.  I hope not, may have to pick up some Mederma for kids!  I've never seen anything like this, and I'm a nurse!  Its been a very interesting experience I hope we never go through again!

Micah goes to the dentist!

Micah visited the dentist for the first time today! It was interesting. The first visit they just wanted to talk to Micah, show him their tools, and try to look in his mouth. He let Michelle, the hygienist, look for a second, but he ended up letting Dr Kelly look for awhile. She is concerned, she sees some ships already in his teeth, which will leave him susceptible for cavities. So we have to be extra careful with his teeth, no more juice or gummies for him! Also he has a lot of crowding already and will need an appliance by the time he is 6 or 7 to make room for permanent teeth. Poor thing!
He also went to the doctor yesterday for his 2 yr check up. This little peanut has only gained 1lb 1oz since his 18 month visit! He weighs 24lb 14oz. Still in the 10-15% range for his age.

Easter in Iron Mountain

We left for Iron Mountain early Thursday morning, to visit Alex and Melissa. Long car ride, took us about 6.5 hrs of driving and a few stops. Micah was really good. We left super early so he could sleep in the car. Then we stopped for breakfast, he watched Toy Story, played with some toys, then we were there! We loved it up there. Gorgeous. We went hiking a bit Friday morning and saw awesome scenery, however that is the one day we forgot to bring the camera with... :( Thursday night Melissa and I went to her place of employment (YMCA) and took a Zumba class. My first time-it was so much fun. Friday night Good Friday service at church, Saturday the boys went out fishing and hiking and the girls went shopping. Visited some good eats as well. Sunday we finally got to hear Alex preach again at church! Definately missed that. It was great to see them again and spend some time with them, experience their new environment.

Happy Easter!

Making himself comfy on the ride home, watching Open Season! He did great on the way home too. Played with his cars for an hour, took an hour and 40 min nap, woke up, we stopped for dinner, he watched a movie and had some treats. Never cried! Matt is now convinced we can take a road trip to Colorado this summer with him....right.

Micah's Two!!

Sunday we threw a party for Micah's second birthday! Grandma Helga organized an awesome Easter egg and basket hunt. Teague ruled in the games, but he is a year older than the other 3! (Micah, Gabe, and Finley, all 2 months apart-April, June, and August). They were so fun to watch run around.

Matt helped Micah open gifts this year. We had to move quickly because he had so many presents! A lot of clothes, toys, and balls! He is a spoiled boy.
Micah's pride and joy-his Woody doll.
Happy Birthday to you! A Toy Story themed cake! The candle in the middle is Buzz lightyear. And later in the evening, Micah actually chewed off Buzz's head. Yuck
Woody!

Side note, Mama's new toy! I love my new elliptical! Micah gets on once in awhile too, he thinks its his.
Gramps instigating tease-the-kitty time! Kramer loved it!
Silly boys!
Micah and his Tiger's gear-ready for opening day!!! In Micah's words, Go Tigers "Rawr!"
Thanks to everyone who came to the party or wished Micah a happy birthday! I can't believe he is 2 already! Time really does fly! We love that boy so much!
