Halloween week!

A little slow on posting about Halloween...but here it is! On Monday I took Micah into Matt's classroom for some "Fall Centers" (they don't let the kids dress up, but they have a fun day with activities and they go from room to room.)
In Matt's room they read 16 Pumpkins and Micah liked to pretend he was the student and was sitting at the tables. And yes, I dressed him in his outfit, a tease to the students I'm sure!
Later Matt's students had a break and came to the room and Mr. Maier read The Chocolate Touch (with voices and everything!). We were trying to leave, hence Micah's coat, but had to sit on Daddy's lap while reading a story! He is so into books right now!
Monday night we decided to trick-or-treat in my parent's neighborhood. This was right before hitting the streets!
Micah loved the houses he could dig and pick his own candy.
Going up to doors and getting candy. I think he even told this lady that a cow says "boo"
Took a break to go down the slide at the tots park!

Handing me his "punke"-it was getting way too heavy for him. Also Matt had to carry him part of the way because he was going too slow...
Tuesday when I picked Micah up from my mom's, he was out walking the dog! How cute!
Wednesday was a sick day. Not sure what Micah had, but there was a fever and a cough involved.
But here is Thursday, and he is looking his crazy self again!
Friday night we went to my parent's for a birthday dinner for my dad. Jenn, Josh, and Gabe were there, and Jess too. It was cute to see the boys together again!
Busy week! We also got news from the Doctor on Friday and we have medical clearance to start trying for a baby again! Very excited about that news. Please be praying for us!

Fall Family Fun Fair

Wednesday night was Fall Family Fun Fair at our church. Micah played games to get candy, which he sees our pumpkin on the counter with candy and is always whining for some.

The Laughing Cow!

Don't they look excited??

He can't keep his hands to himself-always messing with something!

One of the games he enjoyed!

Also good news. We got the result of my blood draw this week and my HCG is 6, so it means no more blood draws! Now I have a Dr appointment to discuss where to go from here next Friday, so hopefully it will be good news!

Apple picking at Stovers

Last Saturday we went to Stovers to go apple picking! Micah had fun identifying all the punke (pumpkins) and all the balls (apples). He even saw some kitties and took a hayride!

He even put them in the bag after he picked them!

Hayride

Later that day at home he was helping Opa with the shed....

Monday night I came home from BSF to this....

Matt left him with his milk on the couch for a few minutes to check something on the computer, and he fell asleep! He must have been really tired!

Just some fun stuff he has been doing the past few weeks- he can take a piece of trash to the garbage when we ask, and now he can put dirty clothes in the laundry basket. Today I finished putting away the clean laundry, and he picked up the dirty laundry in the corner and put it in the basket :) He is such a big helper!

Its been awhile!

Some recent happenings in the Maier household...

Bufous and Kramer cuddling in the 3 seasons room
We went to the St Joe vs. Lakeshore football game a few weeks ago.

Enjoying the game!

Hail from a storm a week or two ago

This past Monday we went out to Grandmere state park for our annual walk.

Just an update on the miscarriage. I have been going in weekly to have my blood drawn. They check my HCG levels, they have to go back to 0 to be a complete miscarriage (avoid a D & C). I was hoping I was done, but these were the lab values from the past few weeks : 36000, 22000, 8000, 164, and now 24....seriously? Close enough to zero, right? No, still have to go and have my blood drawn on Monday. I have been saying this for the past three times, but hopefully this is the last time!!! Pray that this is the last. My vein is shot!

So busy!

I can't even remember what I posted about last time....it has been too long! We have been busy with the school year starting for Matt and my new schedule with work and LMC clinical instructing. I will back up a few weeks...we went church camping a couple weekends ago, had a blast, and now very disappointed I did not take pictures! Micah loved being outdoors 24/7, even when it was in the low 40s at night, eek!

Micah dressed to impress a few weekends ago for the Michigan game

Outdoor fun! Wheelbarrow rides. Opa gave him one first, and MAtt and all the cousins recall Opa giving them rides as kids!

Throwing ball in the yard...acutally its a black walnut, but Micah still loved it!

On another note, it has been two and a half weeks since we recieved the news of our imminent miscarriage. We have found so much support, love, and prayer for our immediate family and our church family, and for that we are so grateful! I have finally miscarried, which brings a mix of emotions. We have had a few weeks to come to term with it, but it still was an emotional time when we actually lost our potential child. We are thinking positive however! The waiting is over and now we can move on, and God willing, in the future have more beautiful, rambunctious kiddos! Thanks for all the support!

Jury duty and the crazy cats

This week has been interesting! Matt went back to school Tuesday to his new class of 28 8 year olds. He thinks they will be a pretty good group, so hopefully that is a good sign!
I was called in for jury duty Wednesday and just my luck, was randomly selected to be on a jury for a trial on Thursday. It was for an assault and battery. It was all very surreal. I felt more like I was watching a tv show than actually serving a purpose, until of course we had to deliberate and decide a jurisdiction for the two defendants. Interesting how our court system works...there were 6 of us on the jury making a decision for these people, and we felt like we didn't have hard facts. We think just about all the witnesses were lying about something, we had to choose what to believe. Crazy!
Anyway, just an interesting experience to have. On a lighter note, took some pictures of our crazy cats this week to share!

Kramer decided to get into Matt's backpack

He is so spoiled-sleeping on Matt's pillow

Go Tigers!

We finally made it to a Tigers game in Comerica park Friday night! What a blast. We arrived in Detroit around 5pm and ate at Hockeytown Cafe then made our way over to the park for a 7 oclock game. Tigers won 8 to 1 against the White Sox! Also afterward they had fireworks-the best firework display I have ever seen. In Matt's head he has already planned our next Tigers outing...
The entrance to the park
Verlander warming up before the game!!!
the Jumbotron (which was right behind us)
The view from our seats-we were in the way outfield, but you could still see the plays being made. Look up Austin Jackson's home run in the 5th inning...the ball went right in front of our stands! (we were 6 rows back) Anyone see us on TV?
Saturday night after Brewsters-cuddle time with Micah and Kramer! Kramer crawled on top of Micah all by himself :)
